Paul Stampa wins German Natural Stone Award
Paul Stampa's constructive design on the theme of "House of Stones" wins in the category "Young Student Award", which was awarded for the first time this year. In four other categories, outstanding realised natural stone works around the sustainable and future-oriented building material were awarded for the 20th time. Paul Stampa's design was created in the summer semester 2019 at the chair of Professors Ansgar and Benedikt Schulz (Design and Construction I) as part of the edited theme for a new building for the limestone museum in the Altmühltal. The focus was on creating a place to honour the history and present of the limestone industry, as well as to present and document the uniqueness of the stones. "The museum with its landmark, an exhibition tower visible from afar, convinced the jury in its spatial arrangement of the building structures as well as in its derivation from a medieval castle complex."
