Damien Roger first studied performing arts before graduating from the Beaux-arts of Bourges and then from the École Nationale Supérieure du Paysage in Versailles, France. As a landscape architect with a naturalistic approach, he reformulates a transversal apprenticeship through multiple projects involving notions of site, use, territory or diversity.
Working freelance before founding Paludes studio, his work gave rise to gardens, parks, industrial wasteland renovations, scenographies, editorial projects and exhibitions in the private, public or institutional fields: the Villa Noailles in Hyères, the Maison Troisgros in Roanne, the Chèvreloup Arboretum in Versailles, the Galleria Continua in Boissy-le-Châtel and the Printemps l'Homme in Paris for example. His practice, named Paludes in reference to a famous opus by André Gide, is the winner of AJAP 2018, the award for young landscape architects of the French Ministry of Culture.
