Filipe Mello Rose
Dr. Filipe Mello Rose is a German-Brazilian researcher specialising in platform urbanism, citizen participation, and smart city development. His academic journey commenced in 2011 at the European School in Luxembourg, followed by studies in Social Sciences at the European Franco-German campus of Sciences Po Paris. He achieved his Master's degree in Urban Governance Studies with honours (Cum Laude Award for the Top 10%).
From 2018 to 2022, Filipe Mello Rose held a position at HafenCity University Hamburg (HCU). At Prof. Gernot Grabher's lab (Urban and Regional Economics), he contributed to the DFG-funded research project, "Smart Cities: The Standardization of Cities?", which culminated in his PhD (summa cum laude). In 2021, he transitioned to Prof. Jörg Noennig's unit (Digital City Science) for two projects centred on digital planning technologies: the "Put the Social on the Table" initiation project, which laid the foundations for a partnership between HCU and Technion Haifa, and the "LIG-Finder" project.
Since 2023, Filipe Mello Rose has been a member of the WISSENSARCHITEKTUR - Laboratory of Knowledge Architecture. His contributions extend to the Model Project Smart City Dresden, where his efforts are concentrated on formulating, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive Smart City strategy for Dresden.
