JUST CITIES PROJECT IN KENYA - U_CODE cooperation project with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) in Nakuru, Kenya

Since December 2021, the Knowledge Architecture Lab's U_CODE team runs a cooperation project with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) in Nairobi, Kenya. The project takes place as part of the Africa-wide "Just Cities" program of FES and aims at the participatory planned upgrading of a former industrial neighborhood in the Kenyan provincial capital Nakuru. To enable this, the Lab's U_CODE team is using the U_CODE tools developed at the Knowledge Architecture Lab to conduct a digital co-design campaign with project partners and neighborhood residents.

The participatory co-design campaign will last from December 2021 to April 2022 and involves multiple local stakeholders and activists in addition to FES. At the KA Lab, the project is supervised by Tobias Kusian.
