Abstract
The predicted drastic increase in traffic volume in the coming years, as well as the scarcity of resources and the increased stresses resulting from climatic changes, mean that more stringent requirements will have to be met by road pavements.
This results in the task of providing models and methods for mapping and predicting deformation behavior and damage development (cracking) for efficient maintenance management, especially of the asphalt pavement. The aging of asphalt surface course mixtures and the resulting changes in material properties must be taken into account to a special extent in the model (further) development. The interaction of mechanical, chemical and physical aging is to be represented in the coupled model.
