Call for papers in Special issue (Structures, Elsevier): Structural Behavior and Design with Bio-based Materials
Prof. Jockwer is Guest Editor for a Special Issue in Structures (Impact Factor: 3.9, Elsevier) on “Structural Behavior and Design with Bio-based Materials”.
Submission Deadline: 30 June 2025
The use of bio-based materials such as timber and bamboo in the construction industry is becoming increasingly popular due to their environmental benefits, aesthetics, quick assembly, and high strength-to-weight ratios, etc. The rapid development of bio-based structures has also created technical challenges, particularly in ensuring the structural safety and improving design processes and material efficiency. The special issue is dedicated to report new technological development to address various challenges that are related to the structural behavior and design of bio-based materials.
- Mechanical performance of structural members made of bio-based materials;
- Seismic performance of bio-composite structures;
- Structural fire design approaches for bio-composite members and structures;
- Mechanical performance of novel connections and fasteners;
- Vibrational performance of hybrid bio-based materials and concrete, or hybrid bio-based materials and steel structures etc.;
- Durability and long-term performance of bio-composite structures.
