Public relations
The relevance of our research is largely determined by its visibility. Therefore, communicating our research topic to a broad audience is a central component of our project. Below you will find a selection of our contributions, which are intended to make our scientific findings accessible and promote public discourse on the topic of beavers.

Why is communication so important?
The beaver is a fascinating species, but it is also a source of tension. While conservationists see it as a key species worthy of protection that creates habitats and promotes biodiversity, farmers, pond owners and local residents are often critical of its dams because they can cause flooding. Our aim is to contribute to greater clarity in this emotional debate with objective scientific facts.
Our communication channels
In order to make our research results transparent and understandable, we rely on a wide range of public relations activities:
-
Social media: Short, descriptive posts and videos provide insights into our field work and explain complex interrelationships.
-
Press work: We reach a broad public through press releases and cooperation with journalists from radio and TV stations.
-
Workshops and excursions: Meetings with citizens at the sites of our research areas in Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains and Bohemian Lowlands allow us to communicate our work directly on site and promote dialog.
