BIBOB at the 10th International Beaver Symposium in Inverness
In Inverness (Scotland), the BIBOB project team participated in the 10th International Beaver Symposium hosted by the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) in Inverness from 16 to 19 September 2025.
The symposium was attended by around 150 people from around 23 countries to share knowledge and research findings on beaver management and the role of beavers in ecosystem dynamics. At this event, two colleagues represented the BIBOB project at the symposium. Torsten Heyer (TUD) presented a poster focusing on the project's transboundary research on the management of beaver dams and their contribution to climate adaptation strategies. Aleš Vorel (CZU) gave a presentation on how wolves affect beavers in Bohemian Switzerland and the Šumava National Park. This is the first time that the CZU team has conducted a study of the relationship between wolves and beavers in Europe.
In addition, their participation strengthens the visibility of the BIBOB project and promotes international networking and scientific exchange on beaver issues.
