The Institut für Statik und Dynamik der Tragwerke (Institute for Structural Analysis) is involved in the national and international development in the area of the theory of structures, the material and structural modeling, numeric simulation as well as the safety and reliability of structures.

Statics and dynamics are based on the physical laws, which constitude a baseline for teaching, research and application, and have a strong affinity to computational mechanics.

The scientific presence and third party funding (mainly German Research Foundation) are both national and international.
