- Development of a thermodynamically consistent microplane model for concrete
- Implementation of different material laws in the microplane framework including damage and plasticity to describe various failure mechanisms
- Applying the implicit gradient enhancement to remedy the pathological mesh sensitivity and numerical instability associated with strain softening material models
- Formulation of a coupled plasticity-damage microplane model to describe the behavior of concrete under cyclic loading
- Implementation of the new formulations within a 3D finite element code and simulation of a variety of numerical examples
- Identification of material parameters for the developed models and comparison to experimental data
