The 30 years celebration kicked off with greetings from the rector and the dean as well as the keynote address by Prof. em. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Hans-Werner Sinn. In 1991, the former president of the ifo Institute published the book "Kaltstart" and delivered an analysis of the economic challenges of German unification. In his keynote he looked back on the economic success and challenges since German reunification and addressed, among other things, the differences that still exist in wealth distribution, productivity, entrepreneurship and economic performance.
After the coffee break, four alumni who studied at the faculty at different times and in different subjects talked about their careers. Marie Le Claire, Dr. Steffen Gilge, Heike Wilson and Prof. Dr. Roland Rollberg looked back at their time at the faculty and gave inspiring insights into their responsible work today.
From the alumni it went on to the current students and research activities. The Prof. Dr. Endriss Award was presented to Nicole Jeschor, a student of Business Information Systems, and Carl Graup, a student of Industrial Engineering and Management.
Finally, Jantke de Boer, Prof. Dr. Thomas Günther, Prof. Dr. Remmer Sassen and Prof. Dr. Martin Wiener gave short and concise insights into current research at the faculty, ranging from protectionism, corporate planning and biodiversity management to algorithmic work.
