Alfred Kärcher Foundation

Also this year, a research project is again to be announced for funding by the Alfred Kärcher Foundation. The maximum funding amount in this case is €100,000. 

The charitable efforts of the Alfred Kärcher Foundation are the promotion of science and research, primarily in the field of mechanization and automation of manual labor, hygiene, as well as systems for the care, maintenance, and cleanliness of the environment. 

Applications for the funding of a research project are evaluated by independent reviewers. The preliminary selection of the review panel is then presented in the fourth quarter at the board meeting for a decision. Through interim and final reports, the foundation's board is kept up to date on the development status.

If you are planning research projects that you would like to submit to us for funding, we ask you to submit your application by July 31, 2026 via e-mail (stiftung@karcher.com). 

The research proposal must be written in German or English.

The application must be submitted by email.

Please include the following points in your application (maximum 3 DIN A4 pages, minimum font size Arial 11, plus 1 page of references):

• Title of the research project
• Description and objectives State of the art
• Innovation aspect
• Societal relevance
• Procedure/Schedule
• Applicant/Project partners
• Project costs
• The project duration should be 12-14 months.
• Funding is typically provided for continuous, full-time work during the 12-14 month funding period.
• Please note that we do not fund purely industrialization or development projects, but only scientific and research-oriented projects.
