Ansgar and Benedikt Schulz in the current issue of Kunst und Kirche
The current issue of Kunst und Kirche is dedicated to the phenomenon of sacred buildings as public space and examines how these buildings can be used in a variety of ways in an urban context instead of being limited exclusively to their traditional function as religious places. In this issue, Professors Ansgar and Benedikt Schulz (Chair of Architectural Design and Construction I) report on how their new building of the Catholic Provost Church of St. Trinitatis in Leipzig helps to shape the urban space and make it tangible and how the church, with its special atmosphere as a public space, has become an essential part of Leipzig's urban fabric
The article was preceded by a lecture by Prof. Ansgar Schulz as part of the study days "Sacred buildings in an urban planning context" at the Vienna University of Technology in January 2024.
