Launch of the Saxon Award for Democracy
The call for applications for the Saxon Prize for Democracy has begun.
From 23 May to 17 July, projects, associations, initiatives and municipalities are being sought which are committed to combating anti-human ideologies and promoting human rights and democratic coexistence in Saxony.
The prizes are
- the Project Award, for initiatives and projects that stand up for human rights and the protection of minorities, strengthen democracy in their region or work against racism, anti-Semitism or right-wing extremism. - the Peter Henkenburg Prize for the Didactics of Political Education, for which applied didactic formats, concepts or materials are sought. Information and the application link can be found at www.amadeu-antonio-stiftung.de/peter-henkenborg-preis-fuer-die-didaktik-der-politischen-bildung/
- the Municipalities Award, for municipalities that support the commitment of citizens or that implement their own projects in accordance with the aims and criteria of the Democracy Award. The Municipal Prize is awarded exclusively on the basis of nominations from citizens. As in previous years, the winner will be chosen by a jury. The jury will meet at the end of September. Afterwards, we will announce the nominees on our website. The prize will then be awarded at a ceremony in Dresden on 7 November. If you would like to take part, please send us an email today. We will inform you about the details of the ceremony soon.
