Basics of building construction
Professors Ansgar Schulz and Benedikt Schulz are honored with a “Honorable Mention” at the competitionline campus 2021 award for their outstanding commitment to architecture. With the award, the competitionline platform honors unique subject-specific or interdisciplinary projects in the fields of architecture, engineering, interior design, urban and landscape planning. Under the title #baukofüralle – basics of building construction Professors Schulz have set up a low-threshold digital teaching / learning setting as part of their building construction theory at the Faculty of Architecture of the TU Dresden, with which they can learn the structural basics and principles of architectural elements - foundation, ceiling, staircase, plinth, wall, window - convey this regardless of the personal, spatial and temporal setting of the students. The result is over 100 educational films, which, based on the basics of the plan representation, explain topics of dimensional order, structure, joining, form, material and design of constructions. The tutorials are freely accessible to all interested parties via #baukofüralle on Vimeo and Instagram. In teaching at the Professorship for Design and Construction at the Faculty of Architecture at the TU Dresden, the tutorials are supplemented by exercises, podcasts and e-assessments. The project is funded by the education portal Sachsen / SMWK as part of the Digital Fellowships.
