COMPOLL visit October 2023 in Dresden - interesting course opportunities
In October 2023 the COMPOLL project partner will visit us in Dresden. We are pleased to welcome Prof. Ashish K. Darpe (IIT Delhi, Department of Mechanical Engineering) and Prof. Jayashree Bijwe (IIT Delhi, Centre for Automotive Research & Tribology CART/formerly - Industrial Tribology Machine Dynamics & Maintenance Engineering Centre ITMMEC) from September 29th to October 16th again at the ILK.
As part of this visit the COMPOLL teaching will take place: Prof. Darpe will offer the block course "Noise Engineering", Prof. Jayashree Bijwe "A short course on Corrosion & Control". The course language is English.
The course on Noise Engineering by Prof. Darpe (October 4th, 5th, 10th and 11th) gives a foundational understanding of noise engineering. Beginning with the basic introduction to the sound and noise, its quantification, analysis and most importantly its effect on human beings, the course will highlight the brief understanding of generation, propagation and attenuation of environmental noise. Various metrics quantifying the noise as recorded through measuring equipment will be discussed in relation to the various international standards. Approaches of noise abatement strategies against noise annoyance will be outlined. | For detailed information see here: https://tu-dresden.de/ing/maschinenwesen/ilk/das-institut/international/daad-compoll/compoll-veranstaltungen/compoll-lehre-wintersemester-2023-24-noise-engineering?set_language=en.
The short course on Corrosion & Control held by Prof. Bijwe (October 4th, 5th and 10th) is mainly designed to make engineers understand corrosion and its disastrous effects: why metals corrode, how galvanic couple and current are formed, which metal will preferentially corrode, at which location it will corrode, and controlling techniques? The course content is divided into three modules (Theory & Case studies): (1) Fundamentals-Principles, (2) Types of Corrosion, and (3) Corrosion Control. | For detailed information see here: https://tu-dresden.de/ing/maschinenwesen/ilk/das-institut/international/daad-compoll/compoll-veranstaltungen/compoll-lehre-wintersemester-2023-24-corrosion-and-control?set_language=en.
The ILK and the COMPOLL invites interested students, doctoral candidates and scientists to participate in the courses.
For the rest of the stay of our guests in Dresden, a COMPOLL project meeting with the usual activities is planned. Together with the School of Engineering of the TU Dresden an extensive framework and social program will be prepared to introduce our visitors to further actors of the TU Dresden as well as to important stakeholders and multipliers of the Dresden region.
