Research project for the virtual museum in Adorf
Professors Ansgar Schulz and Benedikt Schulz were provided with project funding for the construction of a virtual museum on the architectural heritage of mother-of-pearl production in the city of Adorf as part of the WIR! -Bündnis Vogtlandpioniere program. The Chair of Architectural Design and Construction I is part of a research association with the city of Adorf, the Perlmutter Adventure Center, Südwestsachsen digital e.V. and the Vogtland Tourism Association, which is in charge of the Technical University of Dresden. The WIR! Alliance Vogtland Pioneers is part of the WIR! - Change through innovation in the region with which the Federal Ministry of Education and Research BMBF is promoting new regional alliances for sustainable innovation-based structural change in structurally weak regions in Germany. The aim of the Adorf project is to supplement the exhibition areas of the Perlmutter adventure center and to make it tangible in the entire urban space with digital media beyond the museum rooms. The aim is to enable visitors to discover and experience historical sites of mother-of-pearl production within the real urban context. The network partners are to start their work in October 2021 and receive funding of EUR 238,000 for this.
