Heinz Isler: Built Experiments - Entrepreneurial Networks
Heinz Isler: Built Experiments - Entrepreneurial Networks (gta Verlag, 2025)
Editors: Giulia Boller, Matthias Beckh, Rainer Schützeichel, Joseph Schwartz, Laurent Stalder with photographs by Georg Aerni, Hannes Henz
This comprehensive publication on Isler's experimental practice, his more than 1000 concrete shells and the networks that made these pioneering achievements possible provides an overview and sheds light on the work and context of the Swiss engineer from an architectural, engineering and socio-economic perspective.
Concrete shells are also part of our basic teaching: in AD330 Load-bearing structures and structural design, students work with form-finding processes between analogue model and digital translation - from the suspended model to the form-optimized supporting structure, from the photographed working model to the precise representation in the presentation model and in the drawing.
