Annual meeting in Dresden celebrates 100 years of GAMM
From May 30 to June 2, the largest German conference in the field of applied mathematics and mechanics, the annual meeting of the Society for Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM), will take place at the TU Dresden. With a broad spectrum of lectures on current developments in numerical mechanics, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, analysis, numerical mathematics and scientific computing, the conference represents the current state of the art in these fields. An interdisciplinary network of more than 1000 scientists will meet here for lectures and discussions and to develop new ideas.
The special feature this year: GAMM is celebrating its 100th anniversary. To mark the occasion, there will not only be numerous scientific lectures highlighting historical, current and future aspects of applied mathematics and mechanics, but also accompanying events for the public. A scientific art exhibition in the Auditorium Center of the TU Dresden will be open throughout, and to conclude the conference, Harald Lesch will give a lecture (online) on "What does the universe have to do with me?" on Friday evening 20:00 in the Audimax of the Auditorium Center. He will be accompanied by YouTuber Johann Beurich (aka "DorFuchs").
