Kick-off meeting for the 3DPC-TOP-STORAGE research project
We are very pleased that our project 3DPC-TOP-STORAGE "Material-efficient and recyclable application of concrete 3D printing in the infrastructure sector" is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as part of the 8th Energy Research Program of the Federal Government.
Yesterday, our kick-off meeting took place here in Dresden, with all the partners under one roof: PERI 3D Construction, MC-Bauchemie, DYWIDAG-Systems International and the Chair of Building Energy Systems and Heat Supply at TU Dresden. A great start for three exciting years!
In the project, we are developing a new construction method that combines 3D-printed concrete with bondless prestressing. The aim is to build material-efficient, multi-curved load-bearing structures that can be dismantled and recycled at the end of their life. The principle is applied using the example of a seasonal heat accumulator, a component that is playing an increasingly important role in the energy transition.
Our contribution as the Chair of Structural Design lies in form finding and topology optimization: we are developing a fully parametric process chain that generates optimal geometries directly taking into account the pressure boundary conditions
shape and force flow as a unit.
