Standard developed for electronic doctor's letter
In the ERDF funding project "Telemedical Network Psychotraumatology Saxony (Tele-NePS)", telemedical solutions are being developed to facilitate the work of psychosomatic-psychotherapeutic and psychotraumatological clinics. The patients with trauma-related disorders benefit at the same time from advice and therapies at the highest level - regardless of where they live and where they are treated. As part of the success of the project, the Saxon project partners of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the University Hospital Dresden, the Professorship for Business Informatics, in particular system development at the TU Dresden and the Carus Consilium Sachsen GmbH have developed a document standard (CDA) for a specific, electronic doctor's letter published a public voting procedure of HL7 Germany. Post-trauma disorders are often associated with other mental disorders and physical illnesses. The CDA specification now available is designed in such a way that individual modules of the doctor's letter can be compiled as required. A doctor's letter drawn up in this way contains both medically and psychotherapeutically relevant information and is intended for data-protected transmission between health care providers who have been authorized by the patient to do so. Technologically, the new specification takes up the already established standard of the electronic doctor's letter plus and expands it with subject-specific content. With the support of Dr. Kai Heitmann was able to publish a standard in terms of maximum interoperability, which can also be used nationwide in corresponding supply scenarios.
The implementation guide with background information on the Tele-NePS project as well as the structure, content and technical specification of the doctor's letter can be found under the following link:
