Study presented for Musical Instrument Museum in Markneukirchen
At the Professorship for Design and Construction I, the feasibility study for the expansion and renovation of the Markneukirchen Musical Instrument Museum was completed. Professor Ansgar Schulz presented the results of the study as well as the student design work at the Professorship for Design and Construction I to the city council in the music hall of Markneukirchen. The study provides important impulses for the development of an overall urban and architectural concept for the interplay of the listed gem of the Paulus Schlössel (musical instrument museum), the Gerber-Hans-Haus and the sawmill. Based on a generous ideal variant and a minimal variant for the extended museum, three locations were examined for the arrangement of the building dimensions and examined with regard to urban planning, monument protection, spatial quality and functionality. As a result, the study creates a precise basis for the city of Markneukirchen to work out its own premises and the further planning steps for the development of the museum and the historical building ensemble.
