Climate Chambers
The Core Facility Environmental Analytics (CFEA) offers a high-performance infrastructure for modern research with five technically identically equipped walk-in climate chambers. The identical design of all units guarantees maximum reproducibility and enables large-scale parallelization of test series under absolutely comparable conditions. This allows the investigation of complex ecological and technical issues as well as the analysis of biological and material science processes. The broad performance spectrum of the system also offers the possibility of simulating extreme climates (e.g. heat stress scenarios >40°C).
Range of services & applications
-
Plant cultivation: Special configuration for extreme climates (>40°C) to study plant behavior under heat stress.
-
Insect breeding: Controlled conditions for entomological research series.
-
Materials science: Specialized experiments, especially with wood and other natural materials.
-
Flexibility: Thanks to a variable shelving system with integrated additional lighting and irrigation connections directly in the chambers.
