Forestry Conference (FowiTa) 2023 in Dresden
The Department of Forest Sciences of the TU Dresden has under the direction of Prof. Dr. Norbert Weber, hosted this year's Forest Science Conference (FowiTa).
Around 340 participants from universities, colleges and research institutes from Germany, Austria and Switzerland came together in the Potthoff Building at TU Dresden. Thematically, it dealt with a wide range of questions about the forest, its use and its protection. A focus of the contributions was on the areas of forest protection, forest management and climate change as well as remote sensing. Almost 160 lectures and almost 100 posters provided plenty of material for lively discussions. Researchers of all ages used the conference to present the status of their projects and talk to experts from various disciplines who are working on similar topics. The award ceremony for the Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation's Forestry Science Prize also took place as part of FowiTa. The submitted abstracts of the contributions can be viewed on the official conference website. It can be found at www.fowita2023.de.
Tharandt teachers and students played a key role in the organization and thus contributed to the success of the event. We would like to thank you again for this!
