After eight years, it's finally happening: The student-organized congress „Tharandter Gespräche” (Tharandt Talks) of the forest science department is taking place again this year!

From 2009 to 2015, the „Tharandter Gespräche“, held on the prestigious Technical University's campus in the city of Tharandt, was a well-known event for interested parties and employees from various areas of the forestry industry. A small group of forest science students decided to revive this event on their own under the motto "Tharandt goes global" from September 14th to 15th this year, in which international projects for the protection and development of future forest ecosystems will be discussed. The event also aims to draw attention to the importance of the forest as an ecosystem and resource in the context of current discussions around climate change. These exciting and important topics will be presented to participants through interesting talks by international speakers, lively discussions, a workshop and field trip.

Therefore, anyone interested in the future of forestry on a global scale and exchanging ideas with experts and like-minded people is invited to join the „Tharandter Gespräche“ on September 14th and 15th, 2023.
