Prof. Erler has held the professorship for forest technology at the TU Dresden, based in Tharandt, since 1992. His research focuses on the strategic, tactical and operational management of forest-related activities.

Teachings

The professorship for forest technology takes on numerous teaching tasks in the bachelor's and master's degree, but also in international courses. These are in the context of functionalization, local adaptation and the individual optimization of forestry activities.

Research priorities

Our main research areas are: "Systematic penetration of forest processes and their optimization", as well as "Developments of solutions for the ecologically compatible use of forest technology, especially for the problem areas of traffic-sensitive, flat forest locations".

About the professorship

The professorship for forest technology researches, develops and teaches in the field of tension between people, nature and technology. She looks back on a long tradition at the oldest German forest faculty in Tharandt. Prof. Erler has held the professorship since 1992 and is building a bridge to the future with research on the systematic penetration of forest processes and their optimization as well as with the development of solutions for the ecologically compatible use of forest technology.
