Chair of wood and Plant Chemistry
The chair for wood and plant chemistry employs staff from the fields of engineering, chemistry and food chemistry as well as forest sciences. These work on interdisciplinary research topics for the characterization, extraction and utilization of the different plant components.
The teaching and research topics combine the long-standing Tharandt tradition with modern aspects of the use of renewable raw materials. There is a close cooperation with research institutions as well as with business enterprises from different branches.
Linking graduation topics with current research projects creates opportunities for students to start their careers.
