Research for mankind and the forest
A modern interpretation of multifunctional forestry necessitates multifaceted information and well-substantiated support for decision-making.
The research projects carried out by the chairs address, among other things, approaches for the optimal design of production processes within forestry enterprises, the valuation of forest ecosystem services and the resolution of conflicts of interest over the exploitation and the protection of natural resources.
Forest ecosystem services
The research of the Chair of Forest Policy and the Economics of Forest Resources is based on a pronounced competence in the application of methods of social-empirical research, moderation and mediation in conflicts over the use of resources and methods of forest and environmental economics.
At the Chair of Forest Management Planning issues such as operational adaptations of sample-based inventory and planning approaches are developed while also laying the groundwork for the development of new business areas for forestry enterprises.
