IBEaM workshop
The Chair of Forest Biometrics and Systems Analysis is conducting a two-day workshop on Individual-based Ecology and Modeling (IBEaM) at Nov. 14th and 15th. The scientific meeting aims to provide a platform for in-depth exchange on continuing, new and future challenges to design, calibrate, and analyze individual-based models and link them to empirical studies on individual-based ecological observations.
The main topics of the workshop are (a) the modeling of complex ecological systems with individual- or agent-based approaches and others, and (b) field and experimental research in different ecological systems. Particular focus will be put on unifying phenomena in ecology and on empirical and modeling tools to address them.
Leading international scientists from the field of individual-based ecology and modelling have been recruited and we are very much looking forward to welcoming all workshop participants to Tharandt soon for the talks and discussions!
The workshop is supported by a Postdoc grant for Martin Zwanzig from the Graduate Academy of the TU Dresden, financed by funds from the excellence initiative of the German federal and state governments.
