Welcome to the webpage of our lab!
We study the dynamics of populations, species communities and ecological systems including their interplay with human activities and their services. Our main focus is on forest systems but our research interest is manifold. It ranges from the micro-scale of bacteria to the macro scale of agro-forest-pasture systems.
The Chair
Our working group consists of forest scientists, ecologists, geoscientists, hydrologists, social scientists, mathematicians, physicists and computer scientists. Our inter-disciplinary team works to enhance our understanding of nature-oriented as well as economically used ecosystems, and on the development of conservation measures and management strategies.
You will find an comprehensive overview about our activities in the sections 'Studies' and 'Research'. If you are interested in our summer school about individual- and agent-based modelling, please visit the section 'Courses / Workshops'.
