Information on the summer semester 2025 at the Chair of Human Geography

Welcome to the Chair of Human Geography at the Institute of Geography at TU Dresden! In this news article we provide you with important information about teaching in the coming summer semester 2025 and look forward to welcoming all students back after the end of the semester break!

In the summer semester, we have once again put together a wide range of courses for you in the Bachelor Geography, Teacher Training - Secondary Schools (study regulations before and since 2023) and Master Spatial Development and Natural Resource Management degree programs.

We offer courses in the following modules in the summer semester

• Society and Space (Bachelor, new teaching degree, RuN Master)
• Regional Geography (old teaching degree)
• Regional dimensions of contemporary society (Bachelor, new teaching degree)
• Urban and settlement geography (old teaching degree)
• Research Practice Geography (Bachelor)
• Geographical analyses of social transformations (specialization Bachelor)

A detailed overview of the courses offered in the respective modules can be found in the joint OPAL course of Human and Urban Geography. There you will also find the individual OPAL courses for the respective courses for which you must register.

All OPAL courses will be visible from 15.03.2025. The registration period takes place from 24.03.2025 20:00 to 10.04.2025 23:59 in OPAL.

The only exception is the project seminar in the module "Research Practice Geography". Here the binding enrollment takes place via SELMA. For this module, there will be a joint information event of the Institute of Geography on 08.04.2025 at 17:00. This will take place online under the following link . Please take part if you plan to attend the module in the summer semester! The module is aimed at Bachelor students.
