Anthology "Sächsiche Realitäten" (Saxon realities) - Publication ceremony and panel discussion
Publication ceremony and panel discussion
On June 05, 2024 at 19:00 the publication ceremony of the anthology “Sächsische Realitäten: Analysen aktueller Protestphänomene der radikalen Rechten in Sachsen” will take place at the Technische Universität Dresden in room CHE/0091/H (Chemie/Hydrowissenschaften 2. BA, Bergstr. 66, 01069 Dresden).
The anthology edited by Michael Krell and Tom Böhme was published by Thelem Verlag on May 8, 2024. It contains 12 contributions by students and young academics dealing with the radical right-wing protest scene in Saxony since the coronavirus pandemic and its reorganization. Particular emphasis is placed on the emergence of Saxony as a hotspot for demonstrations and the emergence of the radical right-wing micro-party Freie Sachsen, which played a key role in shaping the protests against the coronavirus measures. Different social science disciplines shed light on various aspects of this scene, from fundamental analyses and local case studies to contextual factors for the success of the protests. The anthology thus offers important explanatory approaches for the special dynamics of the Saxon protest movements and provides new insights for the theoretical and empirical analysis of radical right-wing actors in Saxony.
The publication will be officially celebrated at the event. One of the editors and three authors will present and discuss the contents of the book on a panel. The event will be moderated by Michael Nattke from Kulturbüro Sachsen. Dr. Tino Heim and Dr. Johannes Kiess from Else-Frenkel-Brunswik in Leipzig will give a welcome address. After the event, we invite you to a champagne reception.
The anthology is available online as an open access version.
It can also be purchased in print from Thelem-Verlag and in bookshops.
