The professorship presents itself
The Professorship for Computational Landscape Ecology investigates species-environment relationships and the impacts of climate and land use changes on biodiversity. We study eco-evolutionary processes across species, communities, ecosystems, and ecosystem services, spanning various spatial and temporal scales. Our methods include ecological modeling and simulations (partly including genetic relationships), connectivity modeling, remote sensing, geostatistical analysis, and automated monitoring.

Computational Landscape Ecology in teaching
In teaching, the professorship is particularly involved in the study courses of geography (B.Sc., M.Sc. as well as teaching profession) and offers various courses on landscape ecology and biogeography. In the advanced semesters, we focus on teaching current methods in the field of modelling as well as the joint work on questions of land use change (e.g. in student research projects).
