New Paper in ERDKUNDE: Do we need the Concept of Blue Gentrification?
Plaza de España in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain)
The paper“Do We Need the Concept of Blue Gentrification? A Systematic Literature Review on Water-Related Gentrification Processes” examines the issue of gentrification processes related to blue infrastructure, such as rivers, lakes, and post-open-pit-mining landscapes. Drawing on a systematic literature review, the paper analyzes the still-emerging but rapidly evolving international discussion surrounding these processes and asks whether, particularly in contrast to existing concepts such as "Green Gentrification", the term "Blue Gentrification" is now needed to capture such phenomena.
The authors, Julius Niklas Becker, Maximilian Heinke, and Marcus Hübscher, published the article open access in ERDKUNDE, one of the German leading geographical journals (Impact Factor: 1.1).
