DVW doctorate prize awarded to Dr. Matthias Soot
Dr. Matthias Soot was awarded the DVW Doctoral Prize 2023 for his outstanding dissertation in the field of Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management on the topic of "Property valuation in markets with few transactions - possibilities of statistical evaluations". The prize was presented by the DVW President, Prof. Rudolf Staiger.

"At the time I started my doctorate, the topic was more relevant to a few niche markets. Since last year, however, it has become more important than ever to have scientifically sound methods for evaluating markets with few transactions, as there is currently very little trading on the real estate market in all markets," said award winner Matthias Soot about his work.
The DVW Doctoral Prize is awarded to outstanding doctoral theses in the field of Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management completed in the previous two years, primarily at German scientific universities and with an overall grade of "with distinction".
The DVW PhD Prize is awarded every two years in the odd-numbered years. The selection decision is prepared by a high-caliber jury and made by the DVW Executive Board.
The prize was awarded for the first time in 2023.
