External doctoral student Lukas Thorenz introduces himself

Dear colleagues and students,

my name is Lukas Thorenz and I have been an external doctoral student at the Chair of Land Management since July 2026.

After studying Geography at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg and Dresden University of Technology, I began my career at the Regionaler Planungsverband „Oberes Elbtal / Osterzgebirge“. There, as a regional planning officer, I am responsible for regional development in the districts of Meißen and Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge, as well as the city of Dresden.

In order to investigate the effects of current developments in the field of spatial planning, particularly in light of transformation processes, I have decided to undertake a doctoral project at TU Dresden.

I look forward to contributing to research and teaching alongside my practical work.
