Introducing new employee Tobias Buchwald
Hello dear colleagues and students,
My name is Tobias Buchwald and I have been working at the Chair of Land Management since April 2023.
I began my studies at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, where I completed my Bachelor's degree in Physical Geography. I focused early on working with geographical information systems. Following on from this, I transferred to Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences for a Master's degree in Geodata Management.
During my master's degree, I came into contact with the INTEGRAL project "Integrated concept for mineral waste and land management for the sustainable development of urban-land use relationships", in which both the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and TU Dresden are involved. Working on the project eventually led me to the Chair of Land Management at TU Dresden.
As a permanent member of the land management team, working on the INTEGRAL project will be one of my main focuses at the Chair. In addition, I will support the KlimaKonform project and digital teaching and am aiming for a doctorate, although I am currently still in the process of finding a topic.
As I will continue to be employed at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences for the time being, I will only occasionally be on site in Dresden to support the team, mainly from Frankfurt.
I am very much looking forward to the upcoming time at the Chair of Land Management and a successful collaboration with colleagues and students.
