EarthBridge - Bologna
At the end of June two researchers from Junior Professorship for Remote Sensing Institute took part in the EarthBridge meeting in Bologna. EarthBridge is a tri-lateral project aimed at helping researchers improve and widen their skills by sharing experience and knowledge between universities, in this case TUD, University of Bologna and Czech University of Life Science. The project involves short exchanges stays for early career researchers here in Dresden and project management, proposal writing and financial management provided by TU Dresden’s European Project Centre. The meeting was a success and further research ideas and collaboration opportunities were identified. Part of the project is involves internal collaboration between TUD’s Junior Professorships of Remote Sensing and Geosensor Systems and the Professorship of Computational Landscape Ecology. They are looking at new ways to monitor biodiversity at different temporal and spatial scales using a raft of new and existing methods in two case study areas here in Saxony.
