TUD-EnvRS at ESA carbon science workshop
TUD-EnvRS contributes to the 1st Carbon Science Cluster Coordination Workshop of the European Space Agency
The European Space Agency (ESA) formed the ESA Carbon Science Cluster to promote collaborative research in Earth observation for carbon cycle science. From 23rd to 24th June 2021, ESA organises the 1st Carbon Science Cluster Coordination Workshop to increase exchange between different ESA-funded projects on carbon cycle science.
The junior professorship for environmental remote sensing at TU Dresden (TUD-EnvRS) contributes to the ESA Carbon Cycle Cluster through the newly funded project Sense4Fire ("Sentinel-based fuel, fire and emissions products to constrain the changing role of vegetation fires in the global carbon cycle"). Sense4Fire is a joint project between TU Dresden, the University of Cardiff and the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI).
TUD-EnvRS will contribute to the workshop with one presentation and a panel discussion:
- 23rd June, 14:45 - Sense4Fire overview (Matthias Forkel)
- 24th June, 11:30 - 12:30 - Panel discussion "Towards a European Terrestrial Carbon Constellation project"
