Albrecht-Meydenbauer Medal for Prof. Dr. Hans-Gerd Maas
Prof. Dr. habil. Hans-Gerd Maas was awarded the Albrecht Meydenbauer Medal for special achievements in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing at the annual conference of the German Society for Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformation (DGPF) in Remagen on March 13, 2024.(further information)
Alongside Aimé Laussedat, Albrecht Meydenbauer (1834-1921) was one of the founders of photogrammetry as a scientific measuring method. He was particularly involved in architectural photogrammetry (including a true-to-stone image of Meissen Cathedral in 1898) and also coined the term 'photogrammetry' for a method of extracting reliable and accurate three-dimensional information from image data.(further information)
