NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATIONS OF OUR INSTITUTE

In the course of the past years, IAK has established cooperations with more than 30 foreign universities from as many countries. The funding programs of the DAAD, the EU and the DFG, among others, have been instrumental in this process. Current international cooperations are briefly described on the subordinate pages.

Offers

As part of the cooperation with external partner institutions, the institute offers a number of courses outside of the regular teaching activities at the university, such as the summer school of the Junior Research Group INOWAS. Another form of our services is the possibility of order analytics in our institute laboratory.

International cooperation

Our institute is globally networked with higher education institutions, authorities and economic enterprises and supports foreign universities in setting up study programs for the Waste Management and Contaminated Site Treatment. This includes an extensive exchange of students and doctoral students.

Cooperation with research and business institutions

At the national level, the Institute for Waste Management and Circular Economy cooperates within the framework of many projects funded by the European Union or the BMBF with regional, national and international waste management companies as well as a whole range of other higher education and research institutions.

The cooperation includes the close networking with other institutes of the TUD Dresden University of Technology.

Particularly noteworthy here are the diverse relationships with universities and authorities in Vietnam, Latin America and Israel.

Exemplary for manifold international cooperation was the group of the Junior Research Group INOWAS. It was founded in May 2014 with financial support from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and was active until spring 2019. At times, the research group consisted of up to 17 members. In addition to the group leader and a project assistant, several doctoral students (both financed by the project and with external funding) completed their research work in the project. The group had carried out its research activities at the Institute for Waste Management and Circular Economy in close cooperation with the Institute for Groundwater Management.
