Third DAAD Alumni Workshop on Environment and Natural Resources in Hanoi
The 3rd DAAD Alumni Workshop was organised in Hanoi, Vietnam, between 26-28 October 2016. The workshop was organized by the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST). The main organizer was Dr. Chu Thi Thu Ha, who received her PhD from our institute several years ago. From the German side, the workshop was attended as invited speakers by Prof. Christina Dornack, the Director of the Institute of Waste Management and Circular Economy, and by Dr. Catalin Stefan, Head of Junior Research Group INOWAS. The event was made possible through the financial support provided by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The INOWAS presentation was entitled "Web-based decision support system for hydrological modeling" and contained the application of the INOWAS web-based decision support system for the assessment of feasibility of managed aquifer recharge for the restoration of groundwater levels in the densely populated areas of Hanoi, Vietnam.
