Exploring opportunities for collaboration with the Yucatan Scientific Research Centre
On 28 June 2016, during our trip to Mexico, we had the chance to meet Dr. Mario Rebolledo Vieyra, senior researcher of the Yucatan Scientific Research Centre. At the meeting, field work and current research carried out in Yucatan by Dr. Rebolledo was presented as well as the project objectives and the work conducted by the INOWAS group. Actual scenarios on groundwater pollution of the Yucatan karst aquifer were discussed and field measurements and sampling campaigns were planned in cooperation with Miguel Moreno. We also talked about possibilities of further cooperation and participation as co-supervisor or reviewer for Miguel's PhD work. Travelling to Germany next October, Dr. Rebolledo was invited to visit TU Dresden and to give a lecture for the Hydroscience and Engineering Master's students.
