Dr. Stefan's participation to the DAAD Alumni Workshop in Hanoi, Vietnam
in continuation of a long-term tradition of almost 20 years, the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources (IEBR) at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) organised between 10-12 November 2023 another DAAD Alumni Workshop, this year dedicated to "Sustainable Management and Development of Environment and Natural Resources". The workshop was made possible due to amazing committment of Dr. Chu Thi Thu Ha, a former doctoral student at the Institute of Waste Management and Circular Economy of TU Dresden. With financial support provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the workshop brought together about 100 Vietnamese researchers from all fields of environmental management. The 100-page book of proceedings comprises 14 full papers selected from the total number of submissions, with focus ranging from environmental pollution, awareness raising, environmental science and technologies, sustainable transportation and urban development, environmental economics, policy and governance.

At the invitation of the organisers, Dr. Stefan participated in the workshop with a talk on groundwater dependent ecosystems and used the excellent opportunity to network with former partners and colleagues, as well as interract with researchers from different provinces of Vietnam.
