Higher Education Partnership Conference at University of Bayreuth on 3–4 November 2016

It was a privilege participating in the conference organised by the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies at University of Bayreuth. The conference title was "Higher Education Partnership Trends and Policy Issues between African and European Higher Education Institutions". As an African and a teacher in a higher education in Ghana, it was an opportunity to learn and share with other participants from both Africa and Europe on ways of building inter and intra-partnerships regarding Higher Education Institutions in Africa and Europe.  The conference was a platform to share my experience as a past Field and Faculty Coordinator of the Third Trimester Field Practical Programme of the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana. It was an international forum to learn from sociologists, educationists and researchers from Francophone, Anglophone and Portuguese speaking Africa. Also, this conference served as a strategic meeting point for lecturers, coordinators and administrators of higher education institutions to meet and discuss on how to build collaborations and networks. It provided an opportunity for alumni of the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies to share their experiences of studying in the Graduate School, and suggested what ought to be done to improve upon teaching and learning while creating more opportunities for other African students to benefit. The paper I presented was categorized under Higher Education Internationalization: case studies. The paper was: Kwoyiga, L. and Apusigah, A. A. Internationalizing Higher Education through Service Learning: the case of the Third Trimester Field Practical Programme of the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana. I presented the paper on behalf of both of us within 15 minutes on 3^rd November, 2016.
