Second INOWAS trip to Guatemala City at the invitation of ADÁPTATE program of GIZ
At the invitation of GIZ, the INOWAS group visited Guatemala for the second time in 2016, from 30 September to 2 October. The trips were organised by the Rural Development and Adaptation to Climate Change Program (ADÁPTATE) and focused on further investigating the potential of managed aquifer recharge as suitable approach for sustainable water resources management in Guatemala. During the visit, a draft concept for MAR was presented at the Ministry of Environment in Guatemala, followed by a workshop organised by GIZ with participants from Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, independent consultant firms, the Private Institute for Climate Change, as well as GIZ ADÁPTATE team. During the workshop, the general concept of the project was further developed and the participants discussed the road map for project implementation.
