At GIZ invitation, INOWAS met researchers from Universidad del Valle in Guatemala

During our trip to Mexico and Guatemala in June - July 2016 we had the opportunity to visit the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG). The meeting was organised at the initiative of GIZ with the aim of promoting the INOWAS project and managed aquifer recharge concept, as well as investigating its possible implementation in Guatemala. At UVG we met Dr. Edwin J. Castellanos, head of Centro de Centro de Estudios Ambientales y de Biodiversidad, with whom we discussed about the thematic criteria selected for MAR suitability mapping. Dr. Castellanos was also interested in the development of a MAR pilot project in Guatemala and in academic cooperation with TU Dresden (mobility programs, student exchange, workshops etc).
