Research Group INOWAS
The Research Group INOWAS is a research unit under the Department of Hydrosciences of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at Technische Universität Dresden. Our research focuses on managed aquifer recharge, a technique aiming at purposefully storing water in the subsurface for multiple uses or for environmental benefits.
Connected to the world
In line with the Mission Statement and the Internationalisation Strategy of our university - "Knowledge builds bridges - education unites people" - we strive to achieve our research goals through a multicultural, international perspective. We are totally convinced that the best way to address global water challenges is with a group that is international in character.
Since the group's creation in 2014, we continuously engaged in active international networking and initiated new contacts to many institutions worldwide, among them top universities, research institutions, governmental and non-governmental organisations, private companies and professional international associations (such as IAH, IGRAC, GIZ, BGR, IWMI, UNESCO-IHE, CSIRO etc). Through intensive collaboration with our partners, we strive to consolidate the impact of our research on the international stage and therewith to attract even more international doctoral students to our group.
In our research we also involve students and contribute with lectures to various study courses, particularly to the international Master Programmes "Hydroscience and Engineering" and "Groundwater and Global Change - Impacts and Adaptation". Further committement to improve the academic education of international students is expressed through a series of international summer schools organised by our group since 2016.
