International Cooperations

The interdisciplinary topics of our research and education as well as the sites for our field work worldwide are studied together with our national and international partners. Hereby, we are involved in excellent research networks. This kind of exchange we see as a prerequisite for deepening our research, supporting young scientists and realising a transdisciplinary approach together with actors from politics, economy and civil society.

In national and international networks we are dealing with the theoretical and methodological basics of human-environment systems and their governance as well as with concrete topics such as integrated water resources management, environmental risk management (e.g. floods, climate change) and environmental non-migration.

Our national and international partners are particularly excellent scientific establishments, focusing with their research and education on the same integrated or even more disciplinary issues as we do. In addition, we collaborate with selected expert organisations who are addressing the interface between science and the society.
