Representative traffic observation datasets published
Research datasets containing trajectories extracted from drone videos already exist. However, datasets that provide the trajectories, raw video material, and extensive metadata are rare. Moreover, drone data sets that were additionally recorded according to a fixed survey plan to represent the observed traffic events are even more challenging to find. With our collection "ListDB: Representative datasets of video-based traffic observations", we are pleased to offer fully comprehensive and representative drone datasets for two intersections in Dresden for the first time. Each of the two data sets was recorded between June and August 2022, which means that approx. 800 minutes of video material are available per data set. All recorded videos are described with over 100 variables according to the ListDB specification so that, for example, the current road surface temperature and road conditions are available for each video.
Thanks to our research cooperation with the video analysis provider "Data From Sky", we can provide not only the final trajectories but also the analysis files provided by Data From Sky so that the trajectories can be easily examined according to one's research questions. The two data sets are ideally suited for extracting test scenarios for assessing automated driving systems, for example, or for examining the observed intersections for their road safety.
